The Moka Pot

The Italian Job: Coffee made using a moka pot is essential in Italian homes. It’s a cherished tradition that involves an aluminum pot, a generous amount of ground coffee, and produces a unique gurgling sound and a comforting aroma that beckons people to their kitchens.

The coffee that comes from your moka pot will be espresso style. This means that the process that takes place in a stovetop moka pot isn’t hugely different to that of a Barista-style espresso machine! The coffee is ground fine, which means that the extraction rate on the coffee is at a maximum as the water runs up through from the bottom chamber through the coffee chamber. Espresso coffee is a great base for a frothy and milky coffee drink, why not give one a try using a moka pot!
