Description
A cafetiere (or French Press) works by making brewing coarsely-ground fresh coffee in hot water. The styles and colours available are never-ending, but this cafetiere by Cafe Ole is a classic.
It features a stainless steel, 750ml pot which allows you to easily brew fresh coffee for you and your family or friends. The chrome pot makes it a fantastic centre-piece for coffee time and makes sure that your fresh coffee stays hot for longer.
Method:
- Heat water using regular kettle
- Ensure that your coffee is ground coarsely. If you use finer coffee, that’s fine too but the extraction power from using a cafetiere suits the coarser ground.
- Put 20g of freshly ground coffee into the pot for each person.
- Pour hot water on to the grounds. Try to leave the boiled kettle for 30 seconds so the water is slightly less than 100 degrees. This avoids burning your coffee.
- Place the lid and plunger on the press.
- Leave for approximately 3-4 minutes to allow adequate brewing time.
- Place the plunger apparatus on top of the press (but don’t plunge yet)
- Press the plunger down carefully. The plunger can slip or allow grounds to escape the filter if plunged too fast.
- Enjoy your fresh coffee!
