Brazil is responsible for producing nearly 40% of the world's coffee, which amounts to about 3.7 million metric tons each year. This high level of production results in a diverse range of coffee qualities coming from the country. Brazil offers a variety of coffee types, including natural Robusta, Santos screen 17/18 known for its neutral and mild flavor, and Rio Minas 17/18 with its distinctive taste. In recent times, Brazilian coffee producers have increased their focus on specialty coffee production.

The key coffee growing areas in Brazil today are Espirito Santo, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia. Large farms in these regions are focused on maximizing production efficiency through the use of mechanical harvesting and processing. The flat terrain and high labor costs have led many Brazilian coffee farms to choose mechanical harvesting over manual picking. Modern mechanical harvesters are now able to selectively pick only fully ripe cherries, benefiting specialty coffee producers.

This regional blend of SHB EP coffee from Huehuetenango highlights its emphasis on high altitude and meticulous processing methods, showcasing the distinctive qualities we admire - vibrant acidity, and noticeable fruit and floral flavors. Located in one of Guatemala's remote non-volcanic regions, many coffee producers in Huehuetenango handle the processing of their own coffee beans.
