The IKAPE Alkaid manual coffee maker is the world’s first espresso machine to utilize a screw-driven mechanism for extraction.
First to Introduce Screw-Driven System for Espresso Extraction
Reducing Effort The IKAPE Alkaid hand-held coffee maker stands as the world's first espresso device to use a screw-driven setup for pulling shots. Unlike any lever-based manual coffee makers out there, the IKAPE Alkaid's screw system boosts the pressure from your hand push and passes it straight to the brew. You only need light force down, and the screw hits the perfect 9 bar extraction level. Lever machines just can't match this.
Hand Crank Builds Brew Pressure, for Simpler and Steadier Use - The IKAPE hand coffee maker uses a crank to power the lead screw system. Gears multiply the pressure as you turn. This setup works together smoothly – just spin the handle at a slow pace to hold steady brew pressure. It lets you craft a fine single espresso with ease.
At the start, you might struggle to get the crank speed just right. Watch the pressure dial while turning, and tweak your pace to fit. With a bit of practice, you'll master how speed links to pressure shifts.
Pro E61 Brew Head from Commercial Machines, for Top Extraction - The IKAPE team chose the reliable E61 group head, the most trusted on the market. It fits all E61 handles and 58mm coffee tools. Plus, this 58mm head pulls out coffee flavours at a high rate, showing off the beans' true taste. For now, without easy electric heat controls, warm the head first by pouring in hot water.
Clear Pressure Dial Shows Brew Pressure Live - The IKAPE hand press has a see-through gauge for watching extraction pressure as it happens. Change your crank speed by the dial to manage the pressure. About six full turns often bring clear changes. Don't rush the crank – keep a steady, good speed and check the gauge to guide the pressure.
Piston Stop Design, Hand-Pulled Back Suction, Easy Clean Without Drips - The IKAPE maker's brew head runs on a piston. It pushes down to press on the coffee. Keep cranking, and the piston moves lower. The team added a stop sensor: feel a bounce, and the piston has hit bottom. Then, turn the handle back (anti-clockwise) to pull the piston up.
Hot water often lingers in the head after the shot. Turn back to suck it up and stop drips. Now, lift the portafilter safely and set a milk jug below. Pull the plunger out to break the suck, so leftover water falls into the jug and keeps things tidy below.
