Sao Paulo Historic Farms Coffee Holiday

Spend 8 days seeing the truly stunning Sao Paulo region countryside. You’ll be located in the south-east of the coffee world’s biggest and best exporter, visiting coffee farms with their own amazing stories and identities that span decades. You’ll be located near to the iconic Atlantic Forest, boasting deep green beautiful forestry like something out of a postcard. Sample the local delicacies and explore the valleys of Serra da Mantiqueira and take horseback polo lessons!
As for the coffee, this area really has it all. You will learn huge amounts about the locally-produced coffee, as well as cachaca. Both of these are important in Brazilian tradition. If you like amazing coffee, exotic scenery, outstanding cuisine, and a truly unique culture, Sao Paulo’s Historic Farms might be where to go on your next holiday.
The farms you will stay at on your cultural expedition are luxury country farms, where the hospitality is perfect and the surroundings are nothing but breathtaking. Most of the Fazendas have heated pool and spa treatments for those who want them.

Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 (Sao Paulo) – If you’re a foodie, Sao Paulo is by far the best Brazilian city for you to visit. Today you’ll be exploring the vibrant and beautiful streets. Street vendors serve up a variety of local delicacies such as spices and fruits. You’ll be heading up the Edifico Italia skyscraper which is home to a stunning view… and a cocktail bar! Before you hit the hay in Guest Urban, you’ll see the largest concert hall in Latin America – Sala Sao Paulo!

Day 2 (Ronco do Bugio) – You’ll be driven to Emba das Artes this morning. Emba das Artas is a a beautifully vibrant looking village with a variety of special places to grab some food. Next you’ll head on to Ronvo do Bugio which is located right in the heart of the tranquil Atlantic Forest. Walk into the forest through the pathways of stunning orchids, listening to birds sing and monkeys chattering! The inn you’ll stay at is named after the unique noises that the Bugio monkeys make, that can be heard all around and even seen in the trees. You can take a cooling dip in the Pirapora River’s waterfall, and cotniue on to the stunning viewpoint at the Paranapiaccaba. Grab a glass of delicsious sprakling wine and watch the sunset. Stay the night in the Ronco do Bugio.
Day 3 (Sao Roque Wineries) – Makr the short trip to the Sao Roque winery tour, then drive along the world renowned Wine Road which houses no less than 15 artisanal wineries. It also has tasting opportunities with cheeses, sausages, sweets, and other snacks. The Vinicola Bella Aurora, Terra do Vinho Frank Wines, Vinicola Canguera and Quinta do Olivarado stop-offs await. Following your lunch, the day takes you to Confrara Colonial. This is an amzing baroque set back in the constatnly special Atlantic Forest. Stay the night at the Confraria Colonial.
Day 4 (Fazenda Capoava) – First up it’s the short trip to Fazenda Caoava, still embedded in the incredible Atlantic Forest. The old farm is a look back into the area’s history, especially the times of bandeirantes and caboclos (1750s). Itu is a city that was a cornerstone of the sugarcane exporting that served this area of Brazil so well. During the coffee cylce ages, this farm was big in the coffee scene too! It really is a farm and a region with some achievements in its past. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to explore the amazing countrysdie that surrounds the farm. Ride horseback around the district and have an amazing lunch when you’re back at the farm. The afternoon is one for leisure and continuing to soak up the amazing sourroundings. Stay overnight at Fazenda Copoava.
Day 5 (Tozan Coffee Farm) – Today is a BIG coffee day! You will visit the Fazenda Tozan after a short trip. This historic farm dates back to 1798. The Brazilian coffee cycle inlcuded this well preserved farm in its successes. After an intriguing tour, tuck into a coffee tasting and lunch. Lucnh will consist of local homemade dishes with meat and vegetable options, including the area’s take on pizza! The local cheeses and pastries are almost as good as the coffee, you’ll be given plenty of chances to try these too! All of the ingredients are sourced from this very farm. Stay overnight at Fazenda Aguas Claras.
Day 6 (Fazenda Aguas Claras) – First up it’s a delicious breakfast followed by a fascinating day exploring more about this coffee farm. This area borders with Minas Gerias which is one of Brazil’s biggest and best known coffee growing regions. The farm you’re on is not short on space, it extneds all the way from the Atlantic Forest to Carradao. Enjoy the mineral water springs nearby, palm trees, and fields of jasmine. In the 1980s, some Arabica coffee beans were planted here to improve coffee production in the area and they are still there today! Stay the night at Fazenda Aguas Claras.


Day 7 (Fazenda Dona Caolina) – Visit the Fazenda Dona Carolina today in Itatiba. This farm is special with its amazing history and jawdropping surroundings. Spend some time soaking in the local wildlife on horseback as you explore the aromas of the farm. Here you’ll learn lots more about the coffee production process from planting all the way to your up. If you happen to be visiting on a weekend, you can continue south to the Fazenda Paraiso. This Fazenda (farm) dates all the way back to coffee growing in the 1860s! You can take part in a cachaca workshop where you can taste and learn more about another of Brazil’s traditional exports and consumables. Stay the night at Fazenda Dona Carolina.
Day 8 (Return to Sao Paulo) – Make the short return trip to Sao Paulo. If you have time before your flight home, you can visit the incredibly beautiful Guararema village and take the steamtrain trip through to Luis Carlon, which is approximately 80km east of the airports of Sao Paulo.
