Making a pour over coffee is the ideal brew method for those who want to put their coffee on and come back to it. The pour over method often involves a device called a V60 dripper. The V60 dripper is a device which is smaller than some pour over coffee devices and would usually be designed for 1-3 cups of speciality coffee. We have listed the pour over coffee steps below, so that you can be making a pour over for your next brew!
The pour over coffee steps are simple, but require you to be a little more patient than alternative brew methods. If you’re a speciality coffee lover who has some time to kill in the morning, or you’re able to put your coffee on and get on with your routine whilst it brews, look no further. Making a pour over is a great way to have complete control over your coffee, thanks to the carefully measured pouring process.
Before making a pour over, try to let the water temperature decrease a little. You can do this by leaving your kettle for a few minutes before pouring any out.

Step 1
Put the pour over device over the top of your mug or container (depending on how much coffee you’re brewing-up.
Rinse the filter paper with some water, to allow it to stay in place and to rinse out any unwanted tastes.
Step 2
Place the coffee filter paper into the top of the device so that it fits snugly. Place 18g of your best speciality coffee into the filter paper and even out the coffee.
Pour over coffee is a method that can get the most from your grounds, just try to distribute them evenly.
Step 3
Pour the water on to the coffee with even distribution.
Make sure that your pour over coffee is using all of the speciality coffee grounds in order to not waste any coffee!
Step 4
The pour over coffee will then drip through into the mug/container below, and you’re almost there!
