How to use

Backflushing espresso machines

Remove the portafilter basket and fit a blind filter. Add 6g of Cafiza2 powder. Run the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then stop and wait 10 seconds. Repeat five times. Remove the portafilter and rinse the group head well. Run the cycle five more times with clean water. For best results, soak the portafilter and metal parts in Cafiza2 solution.

Backflush each group head:

Fit a blind filter in the portafilter and add up to 1/2 teaspoon (3g) of Cafiza® powder. Lock the portafilter into the group head. Run the brew cycle for 10 seconds, stop for 10 seconds, then repeat five times. Remove the portafilter. Run the brew cycle and rinse the portafilter under water flowing from the group head. Stop the cycle and lock the portafilter into the group head. Run the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then stop for 10 seconds. Repeat five times. Make and discard one cup of espresso to check that no residue remains.

Soaking parts

Dissolve 6g of powder in 1L of warm water. Soak portafilters, baskets and shower screens for up to 30 minutes. Rinse well with clean water before use.

TIP: Dampen a cloth with Cafiza® solution and wipe the spray heads. Then wipe them clean with a fresh cloth. Take care: the solution may be very hot.
