Our classic medium-light roast of this estate. Notes of green apple, orange and custard creams.
La Bastilla as espresso has flavors reminiscent of lemon poppy seed cake and Frangipane. It is delicious, very sweet, and serves as a successful example of our dedication to collaborating with coffee farms in a sustainable manner that benefits both parties. This also contributes to the growth of local communities by supporting education, healthcare, and personal development initiatives.
Direct Trade – Our coffees are often sourced directly from the farmer, meaning that the source is getting the maximum possible reward and recognition.
Rainforest Alliance – Being Rainforest Alliance certified means a product respects the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental.
The Farmer and Region
Situated within a mountainous natural reserve, this estate handpicks all cherries based on the unique microclimates of each farm to optimize their quality. The estate features a fully vertically integrated processing system for accurate bean differentiation and sorting.
In partnership with Teach a Man to Fish charity, we sponsor three children to attend the on-site technical college of La Bastilla, equipping them with skills for careers in tourism, animal husbandry, and farming. We are proud that some of our initial students have progressed to university.
Why A Bird Image?
The Motmot is the national animal of Nicaragua!
Celebration of the countries of origin is so important to us at All Things Coffee. We predominantly do this by teaming up with suppliers, and selling coffee with a Direct Trade, or Fairtrade setup. We want to help to lead the fixing of the damage that has been done to the supply chain, and make sure that ethically sourcing the UK’s coffee is the new norm.
