Description
Tasting notes of rose hip, orange, and cranberry
SCA 87 | SL28 & RUIRU 11 | WASHED PROCESS | SINGLE ORIGIN | 100% ARABICA | 1490-1500M
Lovely honey-noted sweetness and a silky body. Notes of rose hip, orange and cranberry.
In the washed process, the coffee seed’s flesh is fully removed before drying. This method decreases the chance of defects and leads to the final product having distinct and predictable flavor profiles compared to natural processed coffees.
The Farmer and Region
For the past three decades, we have consistently roasted various types of Kenyan AA coffee with good reason. These beans serve as a reliable indicator of quality for arabica, particularly those cultivated in the regions surrounding Mount Kenya. Anticipate a delightful combination of sweetness and acidity with a fruity undertone in each cup, including this current batch featuring prominent flavors of cranberry, orange sweetness, and a fragrant finish. Sourced from the fertile red volcanic soils of Kirinyaga County, situated south of Mount Kenya and east of Nyeri County, this coffee comes from the classic Kenyan varieties, SL28 & Ruiru 11.
These varietals were intricately developed through selective breeding to thrive in the unique Kenyan climate, renowned for producing some of the most exceptional cup profiles globally. The ‘AA’ designation denotes the size of the bean, indicating that the green coffee bean measures slightly over one-fourth inch (¼”) in diameter.
Why A Lion Image?
The Lion is the national animal of Kenya!
Celebration of the countries of origin is so important to us at All Things Coffee. We predominantly do this by teaming up with suppliers, and selling coffee with a Direct Trade, or Fairtrade setup. We want to help to lead the fixing of the damage that has been done to the supply chain, and make sure that ethically sourcing the UK’s coffee is the new norm.
