A natural processed Brazilian with a full body and sweet notes of praline, raisin and maple syrup.
The Catucai variety is a hybrid of Icatu and Catuai, a resilient plant known for its high yield, particularly suitable for the lower elevations typical of coffee cultivation in Brazil. This coffee boasts prominent flavors of grape and maple syrup sweetness, a rich body, and is cultivated by a remarkable family. We are honored to collaborate with the dedicated team at Mió.

The Farmer and Region
We are thrilled to collaborate directly with this family-operated farm. The Brazilian single origin coffee hails from the Monte Santo de Minas region, located in the southern part of the Minas Gerais state. It is named after the year when the Mogiana Rail Station was established in the town, marking the region’s significance in Brazil’s coffee industry.
Mió takes great pride in the transparency of their coffee production, providing highly detailed reports. These reports list the names of all farmers involved in the growing and harvesting process, along with specific timings for each stage of green processing and other relevant information. Moreover, the farm employs satellite imagery to monitor operations efficiently and oversee all logistical aspects.
The farm covers 1,589 hectares, with one-third allocated to coffee processing and milling, and the remaining divided equally between coffee trees and a native forest reserve. Preserving the area’s natural characteristics and ecosystem is crucial for this farm and the global coffee industry, as exemplified by Mió. The farm prioritizes enhancing water quality by utilizing numerous springs across the estate. The Monte Santo de Minas region is renowned for coffee cultivation and is considered one of Brazil’s top-producing areas.
