About The Coffee

The varieties commonly used in this region are representative of Colombia as a whole. Following a severe outbreak of coffee leaf rust in 2008-2009 that devastated the harvest, there has been a notable rise in the cultivation of more disease-resistant types such as Castillo, developed by Colombia’s National Center for Coffee Investigation in 2005.
Currently, it is the most widely cultivated variety in Colombia, producing short trees with large cherries. Additionally, the traditional Colombia, Caturra, and Typica varieties, which have been cultivated in Colombia for many years, combine to form a consistently delicious profile, making them an excellent entry point for those interested in specialty coffee.
