Decaffeinated without any chemical element, this coffee is rich and nutty. Notes of maple syrup, praline and milk chocolate.

After years of searching for a decaffeinated coffee that matches the taste of regular coffee, Swiss Water emerged as a frontrunner. We consistently compare it to caffeinated varieties during tastings, and it consistently impresses. Finally, here is a decaf option that truly reflects the flavors of its origin, Honduras.

Swiss Water decaf coffee is processed without chemicals, using only a green coffee extract and water. This method ensures that the coffee is 99.9% caffeine-free. Initially, Green Coffee Extract (GCE) is produced by immersing caffeinated beans in water, extracting all water-soluble compounds found in green coffee except for caffeine. Subsequently, the coffee being decaffeinated is cleansed and rehydrated to optimize its moisture content for the decaffeination process. The coffee is then introduced into a large container where the GCE circulates continuously. Over a span of 8 to 10 hours, the caffeine content decreases to 0.1% through osmosis. The caffeine is subsequently eliminated from the GCE via a carbon filtration system. Following these processes, the coffee is dried, packaged, and delivered to consumers.

Our amazing benefits to recurring bulk coffee customers include free espresso machine health checks, free gifts, access to coffee industry insights, and exclusive coffee sample tasters – Find out more here.

The Farmer and Region

COCOAFELOL exemplifies the positive impact of participating in a cooperative. The company is committed to promoting sustainable agricultural practices, leading to the creation of a significant quantity of natural fertilizers derived from coffee husks and natural fungi. These fertilizers are distributed to farms at no cost. The enterprise responsible for producing and disseminating the fertilizers was established with funding from the Fairtrade premium. Located in the mountainous Ocotepeque Department in western Honduras, this area is predominantly focused on agriculture. Positioned near the borders of Guatemala and El Salvador and surrounded by various national parks, it offers ideal conditions for cultivating coffee.

Why A Deer Image?

The Yucatan White-Tailed Deer is the national animal of Honduras!

Celebration of the countries of origin is so important to us at All Things Coffee. We predominantly do this by teaming up with suppliers, and selling coffee with a Direct Trade, or Fairtrade setup. We want to help to lead the fixing of the damage that has been done to the supply chain, and make sure that ethically sourcing the UK’s coffee is the new norm.
